1670£ºTrochir from Britain have a reconnaissance to this mountain.
1892: Kang wei from the Royal?Society and the explorer Swen Herdin from Swenden at 1894 tried 6 times to climb the Muztaga, but all failed.
1974: Englishmen Thirtom and Yolman announced their failure in their first mountaineering.
1956: 31 members from the Cooperative Mountaineering Party of China and Former Soviet Union tried hardly, and eventually made a success. This is the first time the human being arrived at the peak of Muztaga and opening a New Era.
1959: The 33 members from Chinese Mountaineering Party all successfully reach the peak, creating a world record of the female Mountaineering sport.
1980: One of the first batches of eight Teams went to China; friendship Mountaineering party from the United States was under the auspices of the TNF. And four members of the party, Galen Rowell, Ned Gillette, Jan Reynolds and Dick Dorworth have successfully reached to the peak. They have become the first team from aboard conquered the Muztaga and also the first group who down the hill by ski.
Henceforward, Hill Muztaga became one of the most famous Hills for international mountaineering. In the present age especially after the 1990s, hundreds of people came to challenge the Muztaga every year. As the most classic 7,000 meters- mountain, elementary analysis showed about the nearly 5,000 people have climbed the glaciers of it, and among them there are about 1,000 people have successfully reached to the top. Climbing the Muztaga is the best warm-up before conquering the Everest.
Muztaga has relatively gentle slope for skiing. With this terrain feature the western slope of traditional route most likely become the world's easiest way to the peaks of the 7,000 m level. Even today, more than 90% of the groups abroad to climb the Muztaga every year are ski &mountaineering teams. Muztaga western slope has become a classical ski route now.

The first batches of private teams are the Mountaineering Parties from the universities:
1992: Beijing University Mountaineering Party failed because of Insufficiency of condition.
1993 July: Beijing University Mountaineering Party tried again and 10 members went to the peak early or later.
1997: 7 members of Tsinghua Mountaineering Party divided into two groups and all reached to the peak.
1999: Wang tienan, Ma yihua, Yang lizhi, Chen junchi and Yao weilun from Urumqi Mountaineering Party reached the peak. They had not enough money, so their equipments were not enough and they also had no workable communicational tools. All these almost led a serious accident.
2007 July: Tsinghua Mountaineering Party climbed again and reached to the 6100 high only.
2001: Mountaineering Party from Beijing University of Technology climbed the Hill Muztaga. Wang shi and some other 5 people from the CMA also reached the peak. Hill Muztaga is their trying of high altitude before climb the Everest.
During the ten years from 1992 to 2001, less people go to climbing. This may because in domestic, the private mountaineering was in starting stage at that time, and the economic development was level low. Until 2001, CMA and the Urumqi Mountaineering Association began to climb, and the Muztaga has come into the horizon of the private climbers.
2002: Chinese Mountaineering Association arranged a mountaineering team again. The team has met a heavy snowstorm at the day they managed to go to the peak, so they have to come back. There are 11 people in the Urumqi Mountaineering Association, among them Yang chunfeng, Ma yishan and Ma jidong reached the peak.
July 18th, 2003: 5 people from Beijing Kai Tu Mountaineering reached the peak. Another team headed by Liqun Yang came back due to weather conditions. July 31th, 13 people from Urumqi Association all conquered the Muztaga. This is the largest number in recent years.
2004: Several people from the Urumqi Mountaineering Association reached the peak. 3 private climbers from Beijing reached the peak. 37 people reached the peak during the Muztaga University & environmental protection Mountaineering. This is the Mountaineering season when most of the people reached the peak.
2005: Sinkiang Muztaga Mountaineering Meeting, 14 people reached the peak.
2006: During the meeting which commemorates the 50th Anniversary of people reached the Muztaga, 5 people successfully reached the peak. At the same year, 27 people from Sinkiang Qogir Mountaineering Co. Ltd. successfully reached the peak.
2007: Sinkiang Muztaga Mountaineering Meeting, 14 people successfully reached the peak.
2007: Zhongkun Group arranged a Mountaineering Meeting, all the members headed by Huang nubo successfully reached the peak. |
